I'm afraid I was too optimisitc. I noticed that I can export XHTML but
cannot import it correctly. So I have 2 questions:

(1) is it possible to export an OpenOffice (Writer) file to XHTML and
then import it again? Or export it to a plain XML? I recall something
like that in version 1.1 or around it. I must preserve all the
character and paragraph styles!
.....OR....
(2) is it possible to manipulate directly the "content.xml" file with a
text editor? I'd like to do some changes within portions of the text
that I know how to obtain easily with a script but not from within
OpenOffice. So can I extract "content.xml", manipulate it with a text
editor, and insert "content.xml" again in the compressed 'odt' file?

Thanks!
