Hello It is a pity that I explained the problem so badly.
When I wrote "I checked the box labelled "Load OpenOffice.org during system start up". It has a tick" I meant to verify the box (to test? to audit?) not to tick or to mark. Perhaps it would be better(?) to write that I verified the box labelled "Load OpenOffice.org system start up" and found that it had already been ticked (since the OpenOffice has been installed a few months ago). Thus, despite the fact that this option is ticked the OpenOffice does not load during system start up.
