Assuming you're using OSX 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5 (Leopard) and want the
US English version, the simplest solution to your problem is to
download either http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.1rc2/OOo_3.0.1rc2_MacOSXIntel_install.dmg
or http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.1rc2/OOo_3.0.1rc2_MacOSXPowerPC_install.dmg
. The choice depends on whether your Mac has an Intel or PPC
processor. Version 3.0.1rc2 is better than 2.4.0 and doesn't require
X11.
If you're using an earlier version of OSX, please post again and say
which one.
