When I use '\t' it simply inserts the '\' 't' in the text, no tab.
I also tried '/t' and 'ctrl-i' nothing works.

In the Find & Replace dialogue click More Options and then select
Regular Expressions. You can read more about these amazing gadgets in
the Help or in any number of Wweb pages which you can find with your
favourite search engine.
