That's exactly what I have *you* (the computer guru) asked:
"So, is this file really corrupted or OOo 2.4 considers it as corrupted 
because of  incompatibility?"
 
OOo does not open the file and gives the message that the file is 
corrupted. Another editor has allowed me to open the file with the .txt 
extension, but instead of a text I see only strange symbols. Can you 
say is the file killed or not?

Now I shall look forward with great anticipation 3.1 version to try 
to open this file.
