Hi folks,

I've just designed a new ham radio QSL card using Sdraw. The card
measures 3.5 x 5.5 inches, and clearly more than one QSL-card
layout would fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of card stock for printing. Is
there a way to, in effect, define the entire card's layout, then
"paste" it onto additional locations on the page to get multiple copies
on the same sheet? Kind of a copy-and-paste routine? Or do I have to
manually duplicate the original layout elsewhere on the page until I've
added all that the full sheet can handle? I figure I should be able to
get at least three cards per page, depending on how I set the print
margins.

With best regards,

Pete

I think you should be able to do this with "frames" (see the Help for details). I have a template that has 4 Filofax-sized "pages" (frames) per A4 sheet. Each frame has a thin border all round it to help with cutting. If, in addition, you "link" the frames then text can be made to flow from one to the next in whichever order you like (I don't think you want that but I mention it because it may be of interest). My template also has circles down the side of each frame that show where the holes are to be - I have a one-hole punch but you can buy special ones designed for Filofax binders. Enter the text into one frame, select & copy it, move the cursor into another frame and paste.

You might also be able to achieve the same effect using "labels" but I've never tried. See http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/FAQ/Writer/Printing/How_do_I_create_labels_in_OpenOffice.org
