Some use OOo's Writer, but I use Kompozer for my web page work. Kompozer is dedicated for web page work. Also I use NoteTab Light for plain text files like used in Javascripts and CSS. go to "www.lungstrom.com/list/" and you will find links to much of the free stuff needed for web work, even a great photo gallery software.
