I would like to set up a keyboard shortcut that
will allow me to insert the current date into a document.
o Go to Tools | Customize... | Keyboard.
o At the top right, select the appropriate radio
button - for OpenOffice.org or for the relevant component.
o Under Category, select Insert.
o Under Function, select Date.
o Under "Shortcut keys", select your preferred keystroke.
o Click Modify and OK.
Plus, I'd like to be able to permanently change the format of said date.
Short of changing your locale, I don't know that
you can do this - at least, not easily.
I would like to setup a keyboard shortcut that
will allow me to insert the current path/filename of the document being edited.
You can get close to this by choosing Insert
under Category and Insert Fields under Function as above.
I trust this helps.
