I am running Ooo 3.1.0 under Vista. I onstalled the program earlier
today and it ran fine. I switched off my computer as I was going out
for a while and then I came back and rebooted I started up OOo 3.1.0
and was asked if I was prepared to take part in a project to help
improve OOo. I clicked on the OK button and since that OOo has not
functioned. When I double click the icon nothing happens.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Any suggestions apart from replacing Vista?
Thanks
Rob
I rebooted and it started working again. That is strange.

I believe what you saw was the new registration system.
The old OOo buttons on my vista desktop was not completely
converted over to 3.1.0 from 3.0.1, so some of them did not
work. But the main desktop icon did. Now I have to create
new ones to go directly to Writer, Calc, and Impress.
Also when you install new major updates to software, you really
need to restart the computer (Win2000, XP and Vista). Also it
would not hurt if you check to see if the Java option points
to the latest version on your computer.
Partly the registry needs to be updated and the old stuff need
to get "out of memory" "so to speak". I also run a registry
cleaning software after the software is installed and working properly.
As for Vista, I hate it. I had to use an Epson projector over
the weekend and the Vista laptop would not work properly. Insisted
on resizing my {1280 by 800} to {800 by 600}. The half broken old XP
laptop went to {1024 by 768} and use same on the projector, not
the small {800,600} default screen.
