I hope you get some responses. I complained about this both here and on
the Lingucomponent (grammar checker) site. Nothing has come back since I
had an brief contact with the developer.
The grammar checker is clearly not even beta yet. Unless something
changes, or I hear something, I'll probably remove the grammar checker
and hope I can get the spelling checker working.

What version of language tool are you using. I know that there were
problems with changes to the way language tool was handled between 3.0.0
and 3.0.1. I do not know if the problem is to do with this change
