I think that you'll be interested in this thread from the releases list:

[3.1 ISO available.]

The iso is only in dvd format (2.25GB) and there is no CD iso available.
Might be a good idea for you to subscribe to the releases list and to
present a case as to why a CD iso is necessary.

Interesting Thread name
Ping my "email name".

What is this GMANE.org site?

I just moved to a new place, with elevator instead of steps.
So downloading and burning a DVD is not something I will
be able to do for a few days.

Unpacking, unpacking, sorting, finding new places to
put things, since everything seems to be different.

ACTUALLY, I did create a CD iso that I uploaded someone
to try. It had the software and guides and other documents,
etc., etc., that fit on a CD. That is the CD I give out.

Also I downloaded the 3.1 various Linux versions and
already give a copy out to a "young man" who is building
a Linux "box" without access to broadband. Figured
it would be "kinder" to give him a CD instead of
using dialup to get Linux's 3.1 copy.

I also did the same to the Mac OSx version for a few
Mac user I know.

Over 70 or 80 percent of the people I know has only
a CD on their computers, not a DVD. They will not upgrade
to a DVD or use an external DVD drive. They just
want a CD. So, I try to give them a CD of OOo newest
version (updated every time a new version comes out).
