Hello list

In OOo Writer, when I copy text (as well as tables) from one *.odt to a second *.odt or within the same *.odt, any formatting in the original gets lost in the pasted version.

I am using OOo 3.0.1 OOO300m15 (Build:9379) on an up-to-date Debian Squeeze. Gnome and KDE libraries are installed.

Thanks for any assistance.

I realize you are running Linux with KDE and 3.0.1.

I'm running Windows XP SP3 and OO.o 3.1.0, (OOo310m11 Build 9399).

A quick test shows that for me at least, within Writer, headings, bolding, italics, bullets and numbering, indents, and tables all copy from one odt document to another, and within an odt document. I don't recall such a problem with 3.0.1 on my system.

Can you update to 3.1.0? Some Linux distributions run a version behind the ones they build for Windows. I wish you luck.

David

There is a .deb. available of OO.o 3.1.0 here <http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=linuxinteldeb&lang=en-US&version=3.1.0> URL: http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=linuxinteldeb&lang=en-US&version=3.1.0

Except for library problems, this should install on a Debian system.

Thanks David

Trouble is, after logging out and back in again, I am unable to reproduce the problem. Copies and retains formatting as it should. I can only assume a temporary glitch.

Thanks for your response. Until such time as it (a) happens again spontaneously or (b) I can reproduce it, I will consider this closed.

Cheers
