It struck me as hilarious today that MS Windows, esp Explorer, is trying to catch up to where Emacs was (mostly) 15 years ago. However, back then I also recall non-technical people using Emacs for its calendar, mail and especially as a filesystem navigator / manager. I've used it mostly for editing, as a development environment, and version control so the imitation by MS products wasn't obvious until just now. This discussion brought it forward. > If I do > a SEARCH however, the Modified date shows as the date of creation. > Odd? Not really. What is truly odd is that after all these years folks seem not to learn and keep expecting Windows to magically start working as advertised. In most other contexts folks otherwise seem capable of learning from their own mistakes, if not those of others, and carrying forward a little brand recognition. -Lars --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
