Strange. On my system OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 seems to be a lot faster than OpenOffice.org 2.4. Maybe not faster with everything though, since your opinion is the opposite… That's one of the main reasons that I switched from OpenOffice.org 2.4.1 (Ubuntu 8.10 version) to OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 (OpenOffice.org version).
