You are correct, Harold. I did discover that. However, the issues I need to 
deal with are the actual order of the columns and rows and how info is entered.

Plus, with the amount of work it's going to be, I'm simply going to just keep 
all that info in the calc document format and enter things generally in QBooks. 
Ie. I will not enter all my clients names, but instead will just enter the 
deposits that I have made (1 deposit usually consists of a number of clients 
payments).

What about comma separated values, cvs?  I believe Quickbooks can import those. 
I know that OpenOffice.org and Excel can export in that format.
