Double click the first cell so that the cursor actually moves into the cell.
Select the data. Hold down the Shift key and double click in the last cell
of a contiguous (possibly multi-row and multi-column) range; select its
data. Now you can drag that range to *move* it to where you want it.
Weirdly, if the "range" is only a single cell - if you only selected one
cell's data, the drag *copies* that data. I have no idea why; perhaps
someone else can explain.
