Can I just kill OOo instead of closing the dialog box? Will that keep
OOo from deleting the macro? Or is it already history?

I have work to do and I can't continue until I know if there is a way
to save the macro. Desperate!!
You mean that you have the Basic Macro Organizer box open.
You already selected to delete something, got a dialog with 'yes' / 'no' buttons - you selected yes - and now your back at the parent dialog...is that it?

If so, then I am pretty darn sure that the macro code is gone (well unlinked that is) already

(actually just tried this [deleted a library, not just a single routine]..and then killed soffice from the OS with Basic Macro Organizer still open... huh, the directory and the files for the library are still there)

You can try that...but if all you deleted was a single procedure I still think you are already out of luck...if it was a module in a library or a full library...then maybe you can get lucky.
