That was certainly not the issue here, I only discovered the Paste
Special feature recently and have never used it for that purpose.

My goal is not to recover the data, Harold, as I already have it. My
goal is to figure out why the numbers are rounded. A few weeks ago I
saw this happen at an organization that I volunteer at, they did loose
data. So this issue has happened more than once, and I would like to
know how to reproduce it to file an issue. Maybe I am doing something
wrong, maybe there is a bug in OOo. But in either case it is a
critical dataloss issue.
