So, if you Copy 100 and Paste Special with > Subtract turned on into a cell containing 1234567 you'll end up with > 1234467. Paste Special seems to remember the last such option used. Hmmm > ???? >
That was certainly not the issue here, I only discovered the Paste Special feature recently and have never used it for that purpose. > The words clutching and straws bring to mind ... > My goal is not to recover the data, Harold, as I already have it. My goal is to figure out why the numbers are rounded. A few weeks ago I saw this happen at an organization that I volunteer at, they did loose data. So this issue has happened more than once, and I would like to know how to reproduce it to file an issue. Maybe I am doing something wrong, maybe there is a bug in OOo. But in either case it is a critical dataloss issue. -- Dotan Cohen http://what-is-what.com http://gibberish.co.il --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
