I give up. I've been scouring around for a couple hours now trying to
find out how to take two separate slide shows and combine them into one
big slide show. I know it's so obvious it's going to kill me, but I'd
rather take the heat for being dumb than keep beating my head against the
wall.

Assume you want to insert the slides from B into A (or to append B to
the end of A):
1. Open A
2. Using the navigator, select the slide *after which* you want to
insert slides from B.
3. Go to menu Insert>File and browse to file B
4. Click Insert and OK.
All the slides from B will be inserted into A at the insertion point you
chose at #2
Note that this works only if you want to add *all* the slides from B
into A. If you only want some of the B slides you'll need to use
copy/paste as per other replies to your question.
