Hmm My speller also doesn't see anything wrong with either of these. Maybe they both are legitimate in the eyes of the dictionary tables.

Google finds this:

/TusCon/, the annual Tucson area Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention.

"Tuscon" isn't in the English (UK) dictionary, and I doubt it is in the English (USA) one either. So if it is not being marked as wrong by the spelling checker (and if I understand you correctly), it is likely that you have either added it to one of the dictionaries - probably "standard" - or else to the Ignore All list. You merely have to correct that.

o Go to Tools | Options... | Language Settings | Writing Aids.
o Under "User-defined dictionaries", click on IgnoreAllList or each of the dictionaries, as required. o In each case, click Edit... and look for the rogue entry for "Tuscon".
o When you find it, select it and click Delete.

No need to go "outside [Writer]".

I trust this helps (more).

Hi All
Well I tried:
Tucson   -> OK
Tuscon   -> OK
tucson   -> Spelling check
tuscon   -> Spelling check

It would appear the the capital 'T' makes it OK? Maybe it thinks it's a name?
It is a little weird.

Hope this sheds some light for someone
Cliff
