I'm now running OO 3.0.0 under Windows XP SP3. I haven't seen this
particular problem posted anywhere else, but it is a recurrent problem for
me that also occurred with OO 2.4. :crazy: From time to time OO seems to
simply forget how to save files in any of the OO applications; for example,
either CALC or WRITER. When I attempt to save a file nothing happens: no
pop-up window prompting me for a file name, no error message, nothing. If I
try to exit the application I get a pop-up window that prompts me to save,
discard or cancel, but save still doesn't work and the only way I can exit
the app is by discarding my work. Trying to "save as" a different file
format also doesn't work, nor does copying and pasting the data to a new
file. I was able to solve this in the past only by re-installing OO 2.4,
but I'd really prefer to avoid a re-installation if possible. Has anyone
else observed this behavior? If so, do you know what causes it? Do you have
any suggestions for fixes?

I would recommend that you upgrade to v3.1. It has some bug fixes that
may relate to your situation.
