Good morning,
Good evening,
I have some questions regarding Open Office, can you maybe help?
1. Minimum spec's one requires on your p >
Check http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_30.html . This
page list requirements by operating system.
2. Cost per user (standard version) for license
If you use the free download, there is no cost. You may also want to
join the Distribution Project, though not required, at
http://distribution.openoffice.org/index.html .
3. Cost per user (standard version) for maintenance
Links to support can be found at http://support.openoffice.org/ , down
the list you can find links to paid support. This list is for users
that do not need on-call support and questions are answered by users
that volunteer their time and talent to help others.
4. What functionalities do you get with it (i.e. word etc)
There is a word processor, Write. There is a spreadsheet, Calc. There
is a presentation system, Impress. There is a database, Base. There is
Draw. More tools can be added via the extension manager.
5. Can we purchase here and deploy in Afrinet countries?
You do not have to buy, see #2 above.
6. Is it compatible with the Office 2007 suite - i.e can I send them
Office 2007 docs which they will be able to open in Open Office?
The user can "save as" to most of the Microsoft formats or the native
.odf for each type of file.
I hope the above information helps.
