When editing a column of items, occasionally it will try to "help" me by assuming I want an indented outline using its best guess of what I should want. By immediately CtlZ ing it I can save it, but it is a nuisance. Is there a way to change the default.?
Tools > AutoCorrect, Options tab has an entry for "Apply numbering - symbol: *" -- turning that off may help, but I don't know if it will fully satisfy your requirement. Another possibility is to let OOo do its thing, and then when your list is complete, select the whole thing and turn bullets or numbering off (there's an icon for each).
Same thing with always putting a Cap after a . [period] I don't want "help" with those things. Thanks. Mark W. Howe
In the same dialog, "Capitalize first letter of every sentence" -- you'll want to turn this off in both boxes. If you browse this whole list, you may find other kinds of "help" you don't want!
