I am trying to use openoffice on a redhat system with version 1.1.2-24.6
and whenever I try to print I get no error message or any indication of
a problem, it just doesn't print.
I have tried renaming the psprint.conf file to psprint.conf.old and
shutting down OO and then restarting OO, but this didn't seem to help.
Currrently I have been exporting to pdf and then printing.
I'm using CUPS print manager.
Any ideas?
You haven' t told us your release or distro so the following is pretty
generic.
OOo output to the printer is postscript. Have you set CUPS to handle
this translation? Check your config under the CUPS driver options tab
and ensure that you have Prerender Postscript checked. I will assume
that you know how to configure the rest. Note: You may need to install
ghostscript.
(originally)
release/distro is Centos4
This is a HP4100 printer and configured in CUPS as Network JetDirect..
Printer Driver is set
PCL 6/PCL XL Printer the driver is pxlmono
(since your reply)
checked CUPS applied Prerender Postscript
tested in cups and tested in spadmin (both good)
tried OO page (didn't work)
I installed gsview-4.7-1 (Fedora Core 3)
created new printer HP4100PS in CUPS
with generic Postscript Printer with Postscript drivers
tested in cups and tested in spadmin (CUPS good, spadmin test shows
negative image tone is black where it should be white)
tested OO page (it works!! no negative image either)
Still concerned about the negative image in the test and whether I need
to use the Postscript driver.
I don't need to do it now but I will need to get the color version
working on an HP4550 any before hand knowledge or comments appreciated.
