I don`t know who Open Office is and I don`t want to know. I went through the
website and there is not 1 link (or I couldn`t find it)

simply explaining how I can get them to stop sending these pop ups...I don`t
want to upgrade Jave and I don`t want anything to do with open office, or
whoever they are. I just want to use my PC without constantly, everytime,
having to delete the page. I`ve never subsribed, but it seems I have to
subscribe just to get them to stop sending this stuff.

How do I get rid of these constant requests to update Java? It only asks "do it later" or "do
it now". Wahat about "do you want us to go away for ever". Answer is Yes, Please.

We are nothing to do with Java. We are users of OpenOffice.org, around the world, who volunteer time to help other users. We are *not* a Help desk. Like many other products, OpenOffice.org *can* use Java but doesn't have to - depends what you do in OpenOffice.org. Other products that *can* use it include but are not limited to things like iTunes, QuickTime and Internet Explorer. I suggest that, if you want to find out how to turn off or otherwise modify the behaviour of Java on your computer, you go to one of the Java support forums which you can find using your favourite search engine. Or you could start at www.java.com.

For your information, OpenOffice.org is *free* software that competes happily with MS Office. You seem to have installed it on your computer without realising it. That's a good trick.

On the assumption that you are using some species of Windows you can get rid of OpenOffice.org and/or Java using the normal Add/Remove Software facility. Of course, as you don't know what else on your computer might need Java, removing it might not be a good idea, although it's easy enough to install again.
Hope someone can clear this up as I can`t find a way to contact this mob called
openoffice.
You clearly have found a way to contact "this mob" called OpenOffice. You seem to have found that way without realising it. That's another good trick.
Thanks, Annoyed and innocent user
