Thanks, that extension worked; though I think OO had an in-built
'Recent Documents' option somewhere ? (or maybe I am confusing this w/
the corresponding option in MS-Word).

I was able to access it from [Tools > Add-ons > History Manager]. This
is on Linux (Ubuntu 9.04), which may account for the difference.
