Mr. Miller, I used to work for a school whose IT person was a Microsoft only kind of person. Personally, I think she was inept and simply stuck with Microsoft because she wasn't able to do much more than install purchased software packages. However, I could be wrong. It was a wealthy private Catholic EC through 8th grade school whose computer lab was probably the best (hardware wise) in the county. Better than than the (public) high schools in area. There was no need/incentive to explore open source as funding was no problem. Can you tell me how the rest of your school views OpenOffice and open source in general? Are you in the IT department?
