There is a switch in Excel relevant to currency cell formats that mimics many adding machines, automatically making the last two digits entered the decimal places. Find it in OO.
The downside is you must enter "00" for even dollars. For me entering the decimal point with right ring finger is more easier, consistent and precise. Even in finance there are numbers that should be entered in more than two decimal places.
