If you press F11 you'll bring up the the *Styles & Formatting* menu. The 4th icon along at the top covers Page styles. You'll see one named *Default* and another named *First Page*. The First Page style has Default defined as its *Next Style*. So modify (right click, Modify) the Default style to have the heading you want and then ensure your document's first page is formatted using the First Page style. VoilĂ . Styles are key to OOo. Worth reading up on. See the links *Introduction to Styles* and *Working with Styles* on the right hand side of the page at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide The base URL for OOo documentation is at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
