Hi all,

We use OpenOffice.org extensively in our company. One of the things we do is
create slides with Impress for presentations.

However after the upgrade from 2.4 to 3.x handout printing has changed in a
way that is costing us an inordinate amount of time. We need 3.x for features
like tables (a.o.), but make use of customized handouts. It is these
customized handouts that have gone from 3.x, which forces us to create slides
in 3.x and then go back to 2.4 on a different host to create the handouts and
print them either to PDF or directly to a printer.

Normally that wouldn't be too much of a problem, but due to small layout
errors caused by the conversion from 3.x to 2.4 we have to manually correct
all slides in a presentation every time we have changed something. As we
customize our course materials to the needs of our students we make changes
almost every time we use the materials. This means we have to invest a lot of
time just to be able to print handouts the way we need them.

As a matter of fact it is costing us enough to be willing to pay someone who
can solve this problem for us by writing an extension. One condition however
is that we want to publish the extension under an open source license, so the
programmer must agree to that. Another thing is that the programmer must be
willing to support the extension at least for as long as Impress itself cannot
do this.

Any takers?

If so, please contact me through the email address used to post this message.

Sincerely,
