Alhough searching for this subject provides some information, I cannot find
an answer to the fact that OO (writer) has started once on my PC and now
nothing happens anymore, I can't open any of the OO programs. There are no
error messages of any kind, I can just see the the hourglass briefly, that's
all..

I have no idea what to do next, so if anyone can help that would be great!

When I've had this kind of silent refusal to run, there's been an
orphaned soffice.bin process running, even though neither the
Quickstarter nor any OOo window is active. Getting back into operation
can be done by ending that process (which will also end any soffice.exe
processes), or by doing a system restart.
