Shouldn't it do what the first method does?
In the Position & Size menu the Height and Width *seem* to relate to
the dimensions of the [imaginary] rectangle of which the line is the
diagonal. In the Line menu the Width relates to the thickness of the
line itself.
Then I propose that 'Width' be changed to 'Thickness'.
