I have a mac os x 10.4.11, and have open office 3.0 for mac on my system.  I
have been using this for quite some time without any problems.  But a couple
of days ago, I opened a document xyz.doc, and removed a couple of lines, and
tried to save it as word xp.doc format, but  I am getting an error message,
saying unable to write, write error, etc. I also tried to save it in odt
format as suggested by the application as an alternative, but the same issue
kept coming up.  As a result, I have tried saving it in some other folder,
assuming there could be some folder issues.  This is also happening with ppt
format. All these were working fine till a couple of days ago, I also
downloaded open office for mac 3.1, but it was of no use, please help.  I do
not have or never had MS office on my machine nor do I have iwork, so kindly
suggest a suitable remedy
