I don't know how to prevent it, but I can confirm that the cell gets changed. Copying & pasting your html table into Writer works just fine. But C&P the table into Calc with everything but 'Unformated text' results in the cell changing to a date format on my en-us system. I get: 03/01/02 as result in the cell and 37316 when the cell is changed to text (the last being expected).
