I am not sure you need to read so much about it. Just hit F11. This will bring up the styles dialogue. On top of that dialogue there are a few icons for different kinds of styles. One of these are for Page styles. Click it and you get a list of all available page styles. Right click one of them to modify or create a new one based on the one you right clicked.
