Hi all.
I have a long document that uses a custom outline that I created. The
outline has many internal cross-references. At the moment, each cross
reference lists the name and the page of the reference (for example:
"see doing it this way on page 21".
I want to add the outline number to the cross reference, so it will be
something like: "see 3.4.1 doing it this way on page 21" and have that
number update automatically as the document changes.
Never mind- I found that the non-intuitive field name "chapter" will
actually show the outline number.
I don't know that it is that non-intuitive. Most people use the outline
to set up chapters and then sub chapters (sections).
Glad you found it though.
