Because I have 10,000 fonts, and I know if I install them all in
Windows, I'll be lucky to boot the system. Windows limits the fonts
folder to about 1,000 and even then you're going to slow the system
down. So why bother cruding up Windows /even more/ when I can slow down
only specific apps. I'd like to be able to use OOo in tandem with The
GIMP (where I can specify an additional or completely alternate Fonts
directory) to create images and documents that are consistent in look
when I export them to PDF. It would also be nice to be able to create
labels with unique fonts.

And also, the best reason of all, why be limited to what MicroSoft (or
anyone else) says we need (on Windows platform, I don't know about font
restrictions on Linux, but this would be a nice crossplatform option)?
