I had a similar problem and the solution was to free up some hard drive space. The download goes first to a temp filename and is copied after it's complete. I didn't have the space for both copies.

Dear User Support,

I am a trusty and long term user of Open Office.
I am working in Israel now, however, and cannot seem to download Open Office to my work computer. I deperately need it as their systems are all in Hebrew. I have gone to your website and attempted to download OO three times. Each time I come to 100% download, though, the file is either unreadable or nowhere to be found.

Hi, Shira,
maybe you're downloading to a 'hidden' directory on your PC? [Just in case you don't know, 'hidden' - in GNU/Linux OS - are the
files/dir whose name is preceded by a dot '.' as in .tmp or
.tmp/.hidden_file.txt; in Win$ozz ... sorry, I don't remember ;)]

Whichever OS you're using: take note of OOofile name you're trying to
d'ld and after the d'ld is finished, try to search for whole or part of
that name.

Regards,
        Ennio
