You have to go to where ever you saved the file on your hard drive. Perhaps My Downloads. Find it and double click the file to install Open Office on your computer. Just follow the instructions. It's pretty easy.

(I just need a word processor.) did you actually install it, or just download it ? Your browser put the file wherever it puts downloaded files and that depends on the browser.
