Can't confirm this with OOo 3.2 (m12 9483) on Mac Leopard.
Prints PDF with background as required.
I found the problem. I had checked print options under the
OpenOffice.org section, but I forgot to go to the OpenOffice.org Writer
section under options to look for printer options. The Contents option
box was unchecked (unticked). After I checked it, I now get the
background when I export the document as a PDF file.
