Hi: This will probably not make any sense to anyone not used to the Mac.
I run OOo on a MacBook Pro running Snow Tiger (OSX 10.6.2) which I have had since last November, i.e. I'm relatively new to the Mac. Up until Monday I was using 3.1.1 and had an icon in the Dock which I could click on and get the default response of a new text document (I had specified the default). More often, however, I use Finder to find a document I wish to open, and, for one group of documents which I use every day, I have placed a folder in the Stack containing those documents, and it is normally this way that I start OOo. When I did this, by whichever method, the Dock icon lit up and the appropriate response finally showed up on the screen. On Monday I installed 3.2.0 and finally got the Mac to recognize and use 3.2.0. But now the response on the Dock has changed. If I start from the icon (not my normal method) then everything is as before. The Dock icon hops, lights up, and a blank text document opens. One negative thing is that every time I am asked to register, and this comes up even after I have registered. If I start from the folder in the Stack, a new icon shows up in the Dock and lights up so that I have two icons, my permanent one, unlit, and a new temporary one, lit. If I start from the Finder, the new icon shows up in the Dock and lights up as above, which I would expect since starting from my Stack folder is only a variant of using the Finder. But in this case I again get the registration window up, notwithstanding that I have registered, and have since clicked on the button for 'I do not wish to register'. If anyone can help me return the behaviour to that which I had with 3.1.1 I should be most grateful. At the very least I would like to get rid of the registration window. I would like to compliment the developers. The new version does start significantly faster.
