OK Wally, we've made a little progress. We know you haven't used Lotus 123 nor Microsoft Works. But we still have a lot of questions unanswered, so I'll put them in a list below, and maybe you can answer each one. I'll make as many as possible ones you can answer yes or no to. Press Reply or 'Reply All' to answer, then scroll down to each question in turn and enter your answer after the question, on the same line or on the next line, it doesn't matter. But try to answer them all. If you don't know an answer, just say so.

Do you have Microsoft Office on your computer? 2. You say you had an different, older version of OpenOffice. Which version is it? If you don't know, start OpenOffice, click Help on the menu and select About OpenOffice. 3. How did you get that version? 4. Did you create your list in OpenOffice? 5. Did you enter the information in a text document. These look like a blank sheet of paper with a faint border within which you write all the way across the page. 6. Or did you enter the information in a spreadsheet. These have columns marked A, B, C at the top and 1, 2, 3 down the side. 7. Did you try to save when you were finished? 8. If so, did you press an icon to save, or did you got to the File menu item and select Save? 9. Or did you just try to close the document, and it came up with a reminder to save? 10. When you saved it, did you give it a name? If so, what? 11. Did you tell the program where you wanted to save the document? 12. Are you using a Windows computer? 13. If not, what operating system do you use? That's a good start. When we have that information, we'll be better able to help. //James
