I am using WIN XP Media Center (which is a variant of XP Professional),
SP 3. When I generate invoices, I use mail merge to create another file
that contains all of the invoices sequentially following one another so
that I can then export the resultant file as a PDF. The invoice
template has an image linked as the page background. Last year when I
printed the invoices using mail merge, the background appeared on each
invoice page. This year, when using oo3.2, the background does not
show. After a little digging, I discovered that last year the link to
the background image in the output file was properly identified as
C:\Documents and Settings\etc. This year when I use OO3.2 the link in
the output file shows up as C:\DOCUMENE~1\etc. When I click the browse
button on the page format window, I get an error message that says that
C:\DOCUME~1\ does not exist. However, I can then browse to the proper
folder and relink the image. Can anyone else confirm that this problem
is consistent?
If the link to the image on the mail merge template is broken so that
the image is embedded into the template, then the background image
appears in the output file.
