Quite frankly I have no idea what you are doing. So let me suggest the
following:
1. Click somewhere on one of the pages that are supposed to be
coloured.
2. Format > Page > Background or Right-click to open the context
menu and select Page then Background.
3. Select the colour.
4. Click OK
You can find the above in the user guide in the Calc section on page
202. I guess it should also be repeated in the Writer section. We will
see.
Try it there should be no gaps except for margins. If you want coloured
pages and the printer will not give you paper of the right tint you may
have to create a page style to colour the entire page.
