Hi William. I don't have a solution, but maybe an idea which might put you on the right road. If you fix the second, I wonder if the first won't fix itself, that is, given a larger window of fixed size, maybe OOo will display the document larger to effectively use the space available. And regarding the second, I wonder if the size of an application's window might not be configured in Gnome (or KDE if you use that) rather than in OOo itself. I've had a quick look around in Ubuntu, and it seems there is a file under /etc/gconf/schemas which might be what you are looking for. Unfortunately it's not on my instance of Ubuntu, which presumably means that it is not something which is automatically installed. Or there might be other Ubuntu or Fedora users in here who can offer more help.
