Shift/Command/V brings up "Paste Special".

Thanks, Larry. On my Kubuntu system, after some experimentation, I
discovered that it is Shift-Ctrl-V. That is great to know. Thank you!

In Windows, in Writer, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-V invokes Paste Unformatted Text directly. It's changeable in Tools|Customize|Keyboard|Shortcut keys.

Thank you. I didn't know that one. It will be very useful.

On a Mac it is Command-Option-Shift-V.
