Thanks.  That's probably the way to go... the extra 
table columns approach was kinda clunky.

So I created a section break AFTER the table and 
changed nothing - the document before the table 
and the document after the table were formatted 
identically.

Then I created a section break BEFORE the table 
to make my interim change to a two-column area. 

Seemed to work. I trust that's the correct order...
