-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 In most of my documents I need to number the paragraphs consecutively throughout. The format I use for the first line of each paragraph is as follows:
1. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The para number, followed the period and a tab, is set by the number style. The paragraph text then starts on the same line after the tab, with all lines after the first starting at the left margin. In the text I frequently need to refer to a given paragraph by its number. Obviously I use OOo 'cross-reference' in each place where a paragraph reference is required, but there is one problem: the reference has not only the paragraph number but also the period following it. Question: how do I make the cross-reference show the paragraph number only, not followed by the period? I still want the period to follow the paragraph number at the beginning of each paragraph.
