I need to remove many documents from a chapter to have an unfootnoted copy--is there any way of deleting them entirely? This is a book and there are hundreds and I want a copy of the book without footnotes.

I don't know of any simple way, but here's a workaround that may speed things up a bit. (You mention endnotes and footnotes, so I'm not sure which you have, but this works for either.)

o Click the pale blue dot at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar to show the Navigation panel.
o Click the Footnote icon.
o Put the cursor at the beginning of the text.
o Click the double blue down-arrow at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar. (Its help tip now says "Next footnote", but it finds endnotes as well.)
o Press Delete.
o Repeat "Next footnote" and Delete alternately as necessary: click, press, click, press, ...

I trust this helps.
