I don't know of any simple way, but here's a workaround that may
speed things up a bit. (You mention endnotes and footnotes, so I'm
not sure which you have, but this works for either.)
o Click the pale blue dot at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar
to show the Navigation panel.
o Click the Footnote icon.
o Put the cursor at the beginning of the text.
o Click the double blue down-arrow at the bottom of the vertical
scroll bar. (Its help tip now says "Next footnote", but it finds
endnotes as well.)
o Press Delete.
o Repeat "Next footnote" and Delete alternately as necessary: click,
press, click, press, ...
