Great

Recently I have had some lessons at work in using Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator.
If you are looking for some more advanced graphics applications than OOo-Draw you could take a look at inkscape (vector graphics) and scribus (desktop publishing)
http://www.inkscape.org/
http://www.scribus.net/

as I have been asked a similar question some time ago I send you some links to inkscape (I love it)

there is a portable version available as well:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=inkscape&search_type=
http://inkscapetutorials.wordpress.com/
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/TutorialsAndHelp
http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=inkscape&emb=0#

There are some very good books for these two applications available.

Have fun!
Franz
